Making a HAR File

In some cases we need to see what you are doing, and this can be provided in the form of a screen recording, however we also need to see whats happening in the background, and for this you can provide us with a HAR file.

Scary as this may seem, it's a case of finding the right buttons to press - follow this guide.

  1. Open an incognito window in Google Chrome File > New Incognito Window.
  2. Open the page you are having issues with
  3. Open the Developer Tools from the menu (Menu > More Tools > Developer tools), or by pressing F12 (or Fn-F12) on your keyboard.
  4. Click on the Network tab
  5. Look for a round button at the top left of the Network tab. Make sure it's red. If it's grey, click it once to start recording.
  6. Turn on "Preserve log".
  7. You can use the clear button (a circle with a diagonal line through it) right before trying to reproduce the issue to remove unnecessary header information.
  8. Reproduce the issue by following the same steps you have described to us
  9. Once complete and the issue is replicated save the capture by right-clicking on the grid and choosing "Save as HAR with Content".

Attach this file to an email and send to support@sixfive.com.au
